Stress Cube

Student Work, Jan 2017 – May 2017

I'm a fan of the popular stress cubes. They are the modern-day form a stress ball. What I wasn't a fan of was the fairly non-descript, and interestingly white, pagacking they came in. There are a multitude of companies that make these cubes and I found that to be the case with most.

Our task was to create a package design, for an item of our choosing, making sure to think about how the package will actually be displayed on a store's shelf. So in my case, being a small item, it was imperative to think about how these cubes might be clustered. I used the isometric design of the existing Stress Cube logo and created an optical illusion in that each side looks like it has an abstract pattern, but when the package is viewed from a particular angle the abstract designs form to make up the logo.

Full disclosure: Stress Cube is a real company and I used their logo and iconography as a starting point in order to focus on the overall package form and design.
