Think Before You Vote

Student Work, Jan 2016 – May 2016

2016 was one of the most polarizing election years to date. You couldn't escape it in conversation. What I noticed was that a great deal of the time people didn't look for information outside of their own bubbles and their knowledge was limited to whatever the closest sound bite, meme, or buzzfeed headline they happened on.

I aimed to create a book that lacked bias, but pointed out the various ways in which the media, the candidates themselves, or how the candidates spoke about one another can be misused, misquoted, and devoid of context - on both sides. Thematically, I wanted to convey a sense that this was a self published, subversive tabloid. The images are crude. The paper is cheap. Typographical errors are abundant. This is an underground zine.
